Skydance Paramount Will Cut Around 2,000 United States Roles – Update

Paramount Skydance will initiate large-scale job cuts beginning on 27 October, eliminating about 2,000 positions in the United States under a budget-saving initiative worth $2bn led by CEO David Ellison.

These job cuts are a result of the union of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed in August valued at $8.4bn.

Additional global layoffs are likely, as the firm intending to reveal full details via its third quarter earnings report set for the 10th of November.

Earlier reports stated that Paramount planned to eliminate between 2,000 and 3,000 jobs by early November.

By December 2024, the company employed about 18,600 permanent and temporary staff plus 3,500 contract workers.

Paramount Skydance did not immediately respond on the matter.
